About this piece
The Vaijanti mala (also Vaijayanti or Vyjayanthi), the garland of victory that Krishna wears in every description of him. The beads are the grey-white seeds of a grass that grows in the forests of Braj, each with a natural hole, smooth as porcelain and no two alike. It is used for Krishna and Vishnu japa, offered to Laddu Gopal, and worn. Anyone can wear it; there are no restrictions of gender or day.
