Tanjore work is framed in teak behind glass. Pattachitra is best mounted and glazed to keep dust off the natural pigments.

Questions people ask about sacred art

Is the gold real?
Yes. Tanjore paintings use 22-carat gold leaf. The painting comes with an artist card and its GI card.
How should the painting be hung?
Out of direct sun, on an inside wall, with the bottom edge at about 150 cm. Dust it with a soft brush and never wipe it with anything wet.
