21-day rituals · practices that change a routine

Twenty-one mornings. One small change a day.

Each ritual is a short puja you keep at the same time every morning, and one small, practical act each day: a bill paid, a conversation had, a drawer cleared, a thank-you said aloud. Three weeks is long enough to build a routine. Start any of them free, on your phone, today.

How it works

Built to become a habit

  1. Step 1

    Begin today

Open a ritual and sign in with your email and a one-time code. Tap Begin and say the sankalp once, with water in your palm. No payment.

  2. Step 2

    Same time, every day

Add a daily reminder to your phone's calendar at the time you choose. The time is most of the practice.

  3. Step 3

    One line, one act

Each day, write one line in your notebook and do one small thing. Only one day opens per calendar day.

  4. Step 4

    Day 21, and after

Close with a fuller puja, read your notebook, and keep the habit that worked. The kit makes the next round easier.

What makes them work

Small, daily, and honest

These rituals come from the oldest idea in Indian practice: that what you do every day, done with attention, shapes who you become. Nothing here is a shortcut.

  • Ten to fifteen minutes. Short enough to keep on your worst morning.
  • The same time every day. Consistency matters more than length.
  • One concrete act. Something you can do today, not a vague intention.
  • A missed day isn't failure. The count carries on. You just continue.
  • Nothing promised. No ritual can guarantee wealth, a job or a cure, and we won't pretend otherwise.

The spirit behind the ritual

Let's make our rituals spiritual.

Take the first three letters away from SPIRITUAL and what is left is RITUAL. Those three letters, SPI, are the spirit behind the ritual.

Every ritual in a living tradition carries a spirit. Do it with that spirit and a ritual can change you. Lose the spirit and what is left is a routine, done mechanically, that changes very little.

Take Namaste

The word comes from the Sanskrit namaḥ te: “I bow to you.” An old way to read it hears namaḥ as na mama, “not mine”, the same words said with every offering into the havan fire: idaṃ na mama, this is not mine.

Fold your palms and say it in that spirit, and it means: it is not about me. For a moment you rise above the small self and turn towards the other person: to make them happy, to add something to their life, to serve.

That is why every Shiwalay practice tells you what each step is for, not only how to do it.

PS And care for yourself first, then for others. Self-care is what makes your service to others last.

Questions

Before you begin

Do these rituals promise results?

No, and we'd be wary of anything that does. Each ritual is a traditional daily practice paired with small, practical acts. What they build is a routine: the same few minutes every morning, and a habit of doing the thing you've been putting off. What follows from that is yours.

Can I start without the kit?

Yes, today. Every ritual's page lists what you need, most of which is already in a home mandir, and keeps your place day by day once you sign in with your email. The kit has everything measured for the whole practice, with the day cards printed, and costs less than the items bought separately.

What if I miss a day?

Carry on the next day. The count never resets, and a missed day doesn't undo the days you've done. Only one day opens per calendar day, so the practice keeps pace with your life.

Can I do two rituals at once?

We'd suggest one at a time. The point is one steady routine; two often become none. Many people follow one ritual with another after a short rest.

How long does each take?

Ten to fifteen minutes each morning, plus the day's small act, which usually fits into the day you're already having.

Should I start with 7 days or 21?

If you're new to a daily practice, begin with seven. It uses the same morning routine and five of the strongest daily acts. If the week settles in easily, the 21-day ritual takes it further.

Are the rituals in Hindi?

Yes. Every ritual has a Hindi edition with the same steps, and your progress carries across both languages on the same phone.

Why do I need to sign in?

So your progress is kept safely and follows you to any phone. You sign in with your email and a one-time code; there is no password. Festival and offer emails come only if you tick that box.

Is my notebook private?

Yes. The lines you write in your notebook stay on your own phone and are never sent to us. Only which days you have marked done is saved to your account.
