7-Day Business Ritual
Seven openings with Ganesh: durva and a lamp before the day's first sale, yesterday's numbers written down, and one act of order each day.
The spirit of this practiceGanesh is worshipped first because every beginning deserves care. The spirit of this practice is honest trade: a fair weight, true accounts, and every customer received as a guest.
Your progress is saved to your account. Your notebook lines stay on this phone only. A missed day never resets the count.
A week-long version of the 21-Day Business Ritual: the opening with Ganesh before the first sale, yesterday's numbers in one line, and five acts of order. Know who owes you, chase the oldest invoice, count the cash, check a price against its cost, thank a customer.
It doesn't promise sales. It's a week of knowing exactly where the business stands.
A reminder every day, in your own calendar
The same time each day is most of the practice. Choose yours; the reminder repeats for 7 days and opens today's step.
The daily routine
About 10 minutes, the same every day.
- 1
Clean the counter
Before anything else, clean the counter, desk or entrance where customers first arrive.
- 2
Light the lamp
Before Ganesh, with a dot of kumkum on the murti and a few grains of rice.
- 3
Offer the durva
Twenty-one blades of durva, in small bunches, saying Om Gan Ganapataye Namah with each bunch.
- 4
The mantra
Om Gan Ganapataye Namah, twenty-one times, slowly. Twenty-one is Ganesh's number.
- 5
Yesterday's numbers
In the notebook, one line: yesterday's sales, cash in hand, and money owed to you. Figures only, no judgement.
- 6
The day's act
Read today's note below and do it before you close.
Day by day
01Begin
Say the sankalp. Draw a swastik in kumkum on the cover of your account book. Write in one sentence what your business is for, beyond money.
Closing, on the last day
- Thanks. Light the lamp and read the week's seven lines of numbers.
- Offering. Modak or laddoo and fresh durva, shared as prasad.
- Next. Keep the morning lamp and the numbers line, or begin the 21-Day Business Ritual.
The rules
- Do the opening before the first sale or meeting of the day.
- Only working days count.
- The numbers line is always honest, especially on bad days.
Quick answers
Should I do the 7-day or the 21-day ritual?
Seven days gets the habit going. The 21-day ritual adds sixteen more acts, from supplier payments to writing down your processes.
Will it increase my sales?
It doesn't promise that. It keeps the traditional opening with Ganesh and builds the habits a business rests on.
A practice of attention and order. Nothing here promises an outcome.
