Why it's traditionally used

The Mahamrityunjaya mantra is addressed to Shiva as Tryambaka, and families traditionally chant it for long life and when someone in the house is unwell. The yantra gives that mantra a place: on the altar, or near the bed of the person the family is praying for. It is often installed on Mahashivratri or at the start of a round of chanting.

How to use
  1. Keep near the bed of the person recovering, or on the altar.
Care
  • Rinse and dry after each use; copper darkens fast when left wet.
  • Restore shine with lemon and salt or tamarind, then rinse and dry immediately.
  • Do not store water in copper for more than a night; empty and dry between uses.
