7-Day Abundance Ritual

Seven mornings with Lakshmi: a lamp, a mantra, a line of thanks, and one small act of order in your money each day.

The spirit of this practiceIn the tradition, Lakshmi stays where she is respected. The spirit of this practice is not wanting more; it is caring well for what you already have, and sharing it.

Your progress is saved to your account. Your notebook lines stay on this phone only. A missed day never resets the count.

A week-long version of the 21-Day Abundance Ritual: the same ten minutes each morning with Lakshmi, and the five acts of order that matter most. Know what you have, know what you owe, clear the cash box, give, and open the door.

It doesn't promise money. It's a week of the habits the tradition associates with Lakshmi staying in a home, and a good way to find out whether you want the full twenty-one days.

A reminder every day, in your own calendar

The same time each day is most of the practice. Choose yours; the reminder repeats for 7 days and opens today's step.

The daily routine

About 12 minutes, the same every day.

  1. 1

    Clean the space

Wipe the shelf or corner where the lamp sits. Thirty seconds. Lakshmi's first condition is a clean place.

  2. 2

    Light the lamp

One wick, ghee, facing east if possible. Sit for three breaths before doing anything else.

  3. 3

    Tilak and flower

A dot of kumkum on the image or the yantra, a few grains of rice, the flower.

  4. 4

    The mantra, 108 times

Om Shreem Mahalakshmiyei Namaha, on the mala, at an unhurried pace. Six to eight minutes. If a line of the Shri Sukta is known, it may be read before or after.

  5. 5

    Write one line of thanks

In the notebook, dated: one specific thing you were given yesterday. Not a list. One line.

  6. 6

    The day's act

Read today's note below and do, or plan, the one small act of order it names.

  7. 7

    Offer and close

The bowl's offering is placed before the image, then eaten later as prasad or given away. Fold your hands. Let the lamp burn out on its own.

Day by day

01Begin

Say the sankalp with water in the right palm, then release it into a plate. Write the one thing you most want to keep, not gain, this week.

02Know what you haveOpens day by day once you begin
03Know what you oweOpens day by day once you begin
04The cash boxOpens day by day once you begin
05GiveOpens day by day once you begin
06The thresholdOpens day by day once you begin
07CloseOpens day by day once you begin

Closing, on the last day

  1. Thanks. Light the lamp and read the week's seven lines of thanks aloud.
  2. Offering. Kheer, fruit and a flower, shared with the household.
  3. Next. Keep the lamp and the line of thanks each morning, or begin the 21-Day Abundance Ritual after a day's rest.

The rules

  • Same time each morning, before eating if possible.
  • A missed day doesn't break the ritual. Continue the count the next morning.
  • No purchases 'for Lakshmi' this week beyond the lamp and the ghee. The point is order, not acquisition.

Quick answers

Should I do the 7-day or the 21-day ritual?

Start with seven days if you're new to a daily practice, or short on time. If the week settles in easily, the 21-day ritual goes deeper with the same routine.

Does it bring money?

It doesn't promise that. It builds the habits of order and gratitude the Lakshmi tradition values.

Ready for more? 21-Day Abundance Ritual

A practice of attention and order. Nothing here promises an outcome.
