Bhimseni burns to nothing and leaves no petroleum smell. If a camphor tablet leaves residue on your aarti plate, it is synthetic.

About this piece

When the aarti is done, the camphor should be gone and the plate should be clean. These are large natural Bhimseni crystals of Cinnamomum camphora, sourced from Tamil Nadu, and they burn without residue. They come in a 100 g glass jar. Many families also keep a few crystals around the house and in the car.
