Why it's traditionally used
Tilak is applied after the morning bath and before the puja, and each tradition has its own. Ashtagandha, named for its eight fragrances, is offered to Ganesha and the Devi and worn on the forehead; kumkum marks Devi worship; gopichandan, a pale clay, is the Vaishnava tilak worn for Krishna and Vishnu.
How to use

Care
- Dust weekly with a dry cloth; oil once a season with a drop of coconut or teak oil on a cloth.
- Keep away from damp walls and direct sun, which warp and fade wood.
- Wipe spills at once; standing water leaves white marks.
