The mould is broken after casting, so no two Swamimalai bronzes are identical. Ask us for the workshop photographs before yours ships.
No two of these are the same, because the mould is broken to free each casting. A Sthapati family in Swamimalai, Tamil Nadu, casts this Nataraja in panchaloha bronze by the lost-wax method, in the Chola idiom. It is made to order and ships in six weeks, with the maker's signature, the maker's certificate and a GI card for Swamimalai Bronze Icons.
Nataraja is Shiva as the lord of dance, performing the Ananda Tandava within a ring of fire, the form worshipped at Chidambaram. In South Indian homes he is kept for puja and by families who practise dance and music, and he is honoured on Mahashivratri and at Arudra Darshan in the month of Margazhi.
In-stock items leave our fulfilment partner within 24 hours, with tracking on WhatsApp. Made-to-order pieces ship from the workshop, tracked the same way. If what arrives is damaged, wrong or not what this page describes, we replace it or refund you within 7 days of delivery; certified items are re-verified on return, so the proof you paid for stays honest. Read the shipping and returns policies.
